Had some granola for breakfast yesterday. Since I had leftover cranberries and pomegranate seeds from the pie I had recently made, I whizzed the cranberries in the Cuisinart into a cranberry relish, just using an orange, the leftover cranberries and some sugar, and then added in the pomegranate seeds. I filled my cereal bowl with the leftover puffed millet and rice cereals, layered some yogurt on top, and then added ¼ Cup granola, and some of the cranberry relish with pomegranate seeds. This concoction made for a fine breakfast, and I recommend it, and hope you would enjoy it too.
Pottery store on the Almalfi Coast in Italy.
A story about the bowls in the photos used in this post. We live in Park Slope, where there is a wonderful store called Zuzu's Petals. At the time, one of the things they sold, were bowls just like these. I always admired them, but felt they were a bit beyond my means. In 2006, my husband and I went on vacation to Italy on the Amalfi coast. That area of Italy is well known for their pottery, and I was determined to bring some bowls back home with me. When we shopped in a store in Positano, the proprietor asked us where we were from. When we told him that we were from Brooklyn, New York in the USA, he said how he knew Brooklyn, and went on to say that he distributed wares to the owner of Zuzu's petals, and went on to show us some photos and tell us stories about his life. A small world, as they say! While we did not buy a set of dishes, we did buy a set of these bowls, the perfect size for cereal and small meals, and for storing leftovers in the fridge. Every time we use them, it reminds us of our wonderful trip, and brings back fond memories.

Hi Barbara,
I loved your post about the granola breakfast and was especially taken with the beautiful bowls. Thanks for explaining where you
found the bowls and how they remind you of your trip to Italy. And I liked the coincidence with finding the same bowls as your shop
in Brooklyn. I also like to buy things that will remind me of my trip abroad. The photos are very nice too.
Best,

Thank you, Linda. I envy that you are on the West Coast and close enough to visit Heath Ceramics. I recently bought a new set of dishes from them, the Chez Panisse line, and love using them. It seems from their web site that they have all these special artist exhibits there. I would love to see it in person one day.
